Enhancing the Cardiovascular Health

The effect of natural astaxanthin from microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis in preventing atherosclerosis has been documented.
An increase in the levels of HDL-Cholesterol complex in blood was seen in healthy individuals, suggesting an enhancement of cholesterol transport back to the liver with 12 mg/day supplementation of Astaxanthin from H. Pluvialis.

A decrease in TBARS (an indicator of lipid peroxidation) & triglycerides with 2 or 8 mg/day of natural astaxanthin for 8 weeks was seen in post-menopausal women.
